SASSA Takes Services to Fernie Neighborhood

Tuesday, August 27, 2024

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services on the community.

SASSA will likely be rendering providers for instance new social grant applications, change of payment method, client treatment enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency said it is alarmed with regards to the superior quantity of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The purpose of your Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the high range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“That is due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no entirely functional office focused on service the area on a regular basis. The provider place made for intervention activities a higher inflow of probable beneficiaries, that makes it challenging to the office to attend to all people who go to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise much more resources to enable the servicing here of all customers and increase usage of Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
